As part of 7-Eleven’s 100 store Manhattan invasion, they are opening another location, this one located at 135 West Third Street in the West Village. Part of the construction involved removing the existing sidewalk hatch and paving over it to accommodate the new door. Who will be paying for that you ask? The tenants. A tenant in the condo building said 7-Eleven “didn’t care since the hatch didn’t belong to them.” Already charming the pants of their new neighbors!
When another neighbor spoke to the person in charge of the operation about the effect the 7-Eleven will have on the surrounding businesses he replied, “So? I don’t live here. Why should I care?”
